With an increasingly ageing population in many churches bright lighting is essential, but lighting must be controllable for mood setting and functional purposes. Cost of ownership must be kept as low as possible and because the average church does not employ specialist lighting engineers, switching and dimming must be kept simple to facilitate use by non-technical parishioners. Lighting circuits are often high wattage and quality dimmers are required. Cabling can be very unsightly and needs to be considered at the outset of any scheme. Contemporary light sources are encouraged and LEDs used to create colour.

Multiload Technology’s products greatly extend lamp life, cutting the cost of maintenance. The MoodMaker lighting control system, rotary dimmers and the Analogue Dimmer (for high power mains driven loads, allow simple controls to be utilised. When setting light levels no programming is required, eliminating the cost of expensive visits from systems engineers/analysts. Cabling options are greatly improved by placing transformers and drivers great distance from the light fittings.
