The Multiload Analogue Dimmer AD2500 dims high power mains voltage loads up to 10amps, controlled by an isolated 0-10V SELV compatible signal from either Multiload’s control products or any other industry standard 0-10V analogue control system.
To reduce stand-by power the unit incorporates a mains relay, which switches off the power to the dimmer circuitry when the dimming signal falls below approximately 1V. Thus the mains feed to the load is isolated (for extra safety) by the signal wiring from the dimming system without the need for additional mains switch wiring. This simplifies and reduces the installation wiring required and also makes it suitable for retrofit use.
When the 0-10V input signal is derived from a simple potentiometer control, the dimmer has a further boosted 0-10V signal output which allows 0-10V control gear (up to 20 standard ballasts or other analogue drives) to be dimmed in tandem with the mains voltage load on the dimmer.
The dimming circuitry uses highly reliable circuitry developed by Multiload over many years. In line with many professional dimmers, large energy savings are achieved when the lamps are dimmed, and even at full brightness the high efficiency of the AD2500 keeps power loss to the barest minimum.
